FEBRUARY 2008

Love is Art is Love II: Group Show
Love is an art that requires patience, care, and commitment. Visit the Wesley Art Gallery in February to see individual and collaborative works from area artists and art couples expressing love for others, the world around us, and definitely for their art.

Opens First Friday Feb 1, 5-10pm (During Artwalk)
We're open every Saturday from 1-5pm

REDUX: Anomalies from the Attic: Group Show
Ever wonder what artists have in their attics?
Well, if they're like the rest of us, their attics are filled with forgotten things and remnants from their past. However, when artists go through life they create art as a part of that journey. Not every piece of art that they made fit with themes or exhibitions of the time. Thus, some truly amazing pieces of art never make it in front of an audience. In January, we will cover our walls from floor to ceiling with art from many of our past exhibiting artists. And as an added bonus, many of these pieces will be specially priced for our collectors and those interested in starting to collect.

We've chosen to bring most of this show back for February since the feedback has been that many of you missed it in January.

February Artwalk Has a Lot to Offer
You won't want to miss the February First Friday Artwalk here in Bremerton. Local artists Pat Cooper and Grace Glaittli will be sharing new works at the Amy Burnett gallery in a show titled Bremer-On! - An exploration of Bremerton through images and performance. And WAG artist Don Wesley will be exhibiting his walpture (wall sculture) titled Spawning go the Memories at the CVG Show 2008 at Collective Visions Gallery. The CVG show is a new regional juried exhibit featuring over 140 works selected from all around the tri-state area and B.C. The show opens to the public on Friday and the gala artist's reception is the next day. CVG Show 2008: Webpage

March Show: Year Five in Iraq
It will be five years since U.S. and Allied forces entered into Iraq with hopes to establish an appropriate government there. The price we have been paying for this endeavor is the most extreme of all, over 3,920 [01/13/08] brave young lives and counting. Join Don Wesley as he presents the entire series of his memorial canvases depicting a bird for each U.S. soldier who has died in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. There are now five canvases in all; the latest still in progress. For more information about this series visit the U.S. Iraq Soldier Memorial.
